New York Mets Betting Outlook

The New York Mets (83-78) enter the final day of the season with their playoff hopes hanging by a thread. A win over Miami is mandatory, and they’ll also need Cincinnati to stumble against Milwaukee to grab the final NL Wild Card spot. The Reds hold the head-to-head tiebreaker, meaning New York can’t afford to settle for just scoreboard watching.

Sean Manaea gets the ball in this high-pressure Game 162. It’s been a rocky road for the lefty, who owns a 7.64 ERA in September after struggling in August as well. Still, the Mets’ offense has found late-season life, with Francisco Lindor, Juan Soto, and Pete Alonso carrying the lineup. Alonso, in particular, has crushed Miami pitching, hitting .400 with five homers and 19 RBIs in 12 matchups this season.

If Manaea can limit the early damage, the Mets’ bats are capable of carrying them across the finish line.

Miami Marlins Betting Outlook

The Miami Marlins (78-83) may already be out of playoff contention, but they’re embracing the spoiler role with pride. Rookie manager Clayton McCullough has his club fighting until the very end, and Sunday’s matchup is no exception.

Edward Cabrera takes the mound, looking to cap his season on a high note. Despite mixed results against the Mets in the past (5.80 ERA in nine starts), this has been one of Cabrera’s most consistent campaigns. His 25 starts and 143 strikeouts mark career highs, and he’ll be eager to deny New York a postseason berth.

Offensively, the Marlins have struggled to match up against New York’s big bats, but third baseman Connor Norby and slugger Junior Caminero have been bright spots down the stretch. Miami already leads the season series 6-5, giving them confidence they can spoil the Mets’ plans.

Betting Outlook & Prediction

The pressure is squarely on New York, and while Manaea’s recent form is a concern, the Mets’ star power should carry them through. Miami has nothing to lose, which makes them dangerous, but the Mets’ urgency gives them the edge.

Score Prediction: Mets 4, Marlins 3
Pick: NY Mets (-125)
Total: Over 8.0 (-101)
