Chicago vs Washington Preview & Prediction

Spread: Washington -5.5
Moneyline: Washington (-235)
Total: 50.0

Washington Commanders Outlook

The Commanders are quietly becoming one of the most balanced and dangerous teams in the NFC. With Jayden Daniels’ dual-threat ability and a relentless ground game, Washington owns the NFL’s top rushing attack at 156.4 yards per game, an identity that’s fueled their 3-2 start despite losing Austin Ekeler early in the year.

Rookie Jacory “Bill” Croskey-Merritt has emerged as the surprise engine of this offense, averaging an absurd 6.6 yards per carry. His breakout 111-yard, two-touchdown performance against the Chargers proved he’s ready for a full workload. Expect Washington to keep pounding the rock against Chicago’s vulnerable run defense, which ranks near the bottom of the league.

Even with key injuries to Terry McLaurin and Noah Brown, Deebo Samuel continues to shine as Daniels’ go-to target, piling up 300 yards and four touchdowns already. If Samuel suits up Monday, he’ll once again be the focal point of Washington’s air attack.

Defensively, Dan Quinn’s unit has tightened up, forcing turnovers and getting pressure in key moments. With Daniels in command and the run game firing, the Commanders are built to control the tempo and grind down Chicago over four quarters.

Player Prop Pick – Jayden Daniels Over 41.5 Rushing Yards – Daniels’ mobility is a matchup nightmare for a Chicago defense that struggles against quarterback runs. Expect him to break several big ones.

Chicago Bears Outlook

The Bears enter Monday’s primetime matchup rested after their bye and looking to keep momentum rolling after back-to-back wins. Rookie quarterback Caleb Williams continues to flash his elite arm talent, but he’ll face one of his toughest challenges yet against Washington’s front seven.

Chicago’s offensive line remains a concern, especially after Braxton Jones’ benching and the move to Theo Benedet at left tackle. Protecting Williams will be critical against a defense that thrives on disruption. The Bears’ game plan should lean on quick throws, rollouts, and perhaps a heavier dose of the run to keep Washington honest.

Head coach Ben Johnson’s offense has been efficient but inconsistent, and if Williams can avoid early turnovers, Chicago can stay within striking distance. Look for running back Khalil Herbert to be more involved to help set up play-action opportunities.

On defense, Chicago’s secondary gets a boost with Kyler Gordon returning from injury, but the loss of Jaylon Johnson remains a major blow. The Bears have been gashed on the ground, and unless they clean up tackling and gap discipline, they’ll struggle to slow down Washington’s rushing attack.

Player Prop Pick – Caleb Williams Over 1.5 Passing Touchdowns – Williams has the arm and weapons to push this Washington defense vertically. Expect him to take his shots early and often.

NFL Prediction & Betting Angle

This matchup features two young quarterbacks with superstar potential and contrasting team strengths. Washington’s rushing dominance and defensive edge give them the upper hand against a Chicago team still finding consistency. If Daniels and Croskey-Merritt get rolling, it could be a long night for the Bears’ defense.

Final Score:  Commanders 27, Bears 20
