Miami vs San Antonio Preview & Prediction

Spread: San Antonio -6.0
Moneyline: San Antonio (-200)
Total: 228.5

San Antonio Spurs Outlook

The Spurs are back in business and apparently allergic to losing. San Antonio is off to its best start since the 2017-18 season, rolling into Thursday night’s matchup at 4-0 and showing off the kind of balance that used to define the Popovich years. Except this time, they’ve got a 7-foot-3 cheat code leading the way.

Victor Wembanyama is already making NBA defenses reconsider their life choices. Averaging 31 points, nearly 14 rebounds, and an absurd 4.8 blocks per game, he’s been stuffing stat sheets and dreams alike. He’s shooting 60% from the field and 36% from deep, which, frankly, shouldn’t be legal for a man his size. His coach, Mitch Johnson, summed it up best: “It feels like he can block every shot.”

Alongside him, Stephon Castle, last year’s Rookie of the Year, has stepped into a true secondary star role. He’s putting up 18.3 points per game and leading the team in assists, all while playing like he’s been in the league for five years. Add rookie Dylan Harper’s 14.8 points per game, and you’ve got a Spurs youth movement that’s more polished than expected.

Even without De’Aaron Fox (hamstring), San Antonio’s depth and ball movement have made them one of the most dangerous early-season teams. At home, they’ll look to continue their streak against a Miami squad that loves to run but hasn’t faced a defensive frontcourt quite like this.

Player Prop Pick (Spurs): Victor Wembanyama Over 27.5 Points — Miami’s defense struggles with rim protection, and Wemby’s size and touch should overwhelm their undersized interior rotation.

Miami Heat Outlook

The Heat are heating up after a sluggish start, winning three straight while leading the entire league in scoring at 131.5 points per game. Somewhere, Erik Spoelstra probably smiled once and then immediately went back to drawing up a new zone defense.

Even without Tyler Herro (ankle) and newcomer Norman Powell (groin), Miami’s offense has been blazing hot. Jaime Jaquez Jr. has emerged as one of the most efficient scorers in the league, averaging 18.8 points while hitting nearly 69% of his shots. Bam Adebayo continues to dominate inside, and Andrew Wiggins looks comfortable as a high-volume option when Powell sits.

Miami’s offense can light up a scoreboard, but their defense? That’s still a work in progress. Against San Antonio’s frontcourt, they’ll need to play their most physical game of the season to avoid getting bullied in the paint.

Player Prop Pick (Heat): Bam Adebayo Over 9.5 Rebounds — San Antonio shoots plenty from midrange and outside, leaving Bam ample chances to clean up on the glass.

NBA Final Score Expert Prediction

Miami’s pace and offensive creativity will keep this one interesting early, but San Antonio’s length, balance, and home-court confidence make them a nightmare matchup. Expect Wembanyama to put on a show and Castle to control the tempo down the stretch.

Final Score:  Spurs 120, Heat 110
Lean: San Antonio -6.0

Over 228.5
