Oklahoma Sooners Betting Outlook
Oklahoma rolls into this matchup with real playoff stakes on the line and absolutely no room for slip-ups. Brent Venables has been blasting the message all week: this group cannot afford complacency, and they know it.
The Sooners’ renewed defensive identity carried them through narrow but gritty wins over Tennessee and Alabama. Now at 8-2, Oklahoma has to run the table to stay alive for a College Football Playoff berth, and this matchup brings a completely different challenge.
Oklahoma dominated three top passing offenses this year, but Missouri’s power run game is a new test. The Sooners allow only 82.2 rushing yards per game, ranking fourth nationally, and no opponent has cracked 150 against them all season. This front rallies, hits gaps with purpose and stacks the line with a confidence they lacked a year ago.
Star edge rusher R Mason Thomas could return after missing last week, giving OU another weapon as they try to slow down the nation’s most explosive running attack.
Missouri Tigers Betting Outlook
Missouri brings a bruising personality into this showdown, riding the sixth-best rushing attack in the country at 241.7 yards per game. Ahmad Hardy leads the entire nation in rushing with 1,346 yards and 15 touchdowns, and everything Missouri does flows through him.
The Tigers snapped a two-game slide with a convincing 49-27 win over Mississippi State, but now face the toughest defense on their schedule. Head coach Eli Drinkwitz praised Oklahoma’s defensive structure, noting their ability to overlap gaps, blitz smartly and crowd the ball from all angles.
Quarterback health remains a storyline. Beau Pribula warmed up last week but was held out, and Drinkwitz expects Matt Zollers to start again. Against a defense this aggressive, Missouri will lean even heavier on the run game unless Pribula unexpectedly suits up.
Missouri won last year’s meeting, but they have not beaten Oklahoma in Norman since 1966.
Final Score Prediction & Betting Angle
Oklahoma’s run defense has been elite and looks built specifically to counter a team like Missouri. With playoff urgency and home field behind them, the Sooners control the trenches and grind their way to a win.
