Chicago Bears Betting Preview

The Bears come home buzzing after another dramatic escape, something that has become their weird specialty. Chicago has won seven of its past eight and five of those came after trailing in the final two minutes. The cardiac routine is becoming a habit, but winning close games still counts the same in the standings.

Caleb Williams continues to look like a backyard escape artist turned NFL quarterback. His ability to slither out of pressure and extend plays has kept the Bears alive even when drives fall apart early. Pittsburgh has seen mobile quarterbacks before, but Williams works chaos differently. He scrambles not to run but to stall long enough for something to open deep. That can be maddening for defenses.

The Bears enter this matchup sitting atop the NFC North by the narrowest margin, and this is the kind of home game they simply cannot afford to drop. Their defense leads the league in interceptions, headlined by Kevin Byard, who is back to being a ball hawk with five picks. With multiple Bears near the top of the interception chart, turnovers become the storyline any time they step on the field.

Chicago will look to apply consistent pressure, force bad decisions and lean on the home-field magic that has historically crushed Pittsburgh. The Bears have dominated this series for decades and have lost at home only once since 1920-something. A sleepy afternoon in the Windy City usually tilts their way.

Pittsburgh Steelers Betting Preview

Pittsburgh walks into this matchup in limbo, waiting on Aaron Rodgers and his injured left wrist. If he plays, even at 70 percent, he changes the entire complexion of the game because Chicago has been his personal property for two decades. If he does not, Mason Rudolph steps in again after managing last week’s win admirably.

The Steelers know they will need to control the tempo and avoid falling into Williams’ playground-style rhythm. Pittsburgh’s defense has seen Lamar Jackson for years, but the demands are different here. Williams drifts, spins, buys time and forces defensive backs to cover forever. Getting him on the ground quickly is the only answer.

The Steelers’ offense has leaned on Kenneth Gainwell’s emergence, especially in the red zone, where his durability has become valuable following Jaylen Warren’s nagging injuries. Pittsburgh will need another workmanlike performance to keep this one within their comfort zone.

The franchise history here is ugly. Pittsburgh is 1-14 all time in Chicago and has the worst all-time record against the Bears of any opponent. If Rodgers cannot go, that mountain gets even steeper.

NFL Prediction & Betting Angle

Chicago’s defense has been too opportunistic, Williams has been too slippery at home, and Pittsburgh’s quarterback situation is too shaky for a high-confidence road upset. If Rodgers plays, the line might tighten, but the Bears remain the safer side.

Final Score:  Bears 24, Steelers 20
Lean: Chicago -2.5
