Dallas Stars Betting Breakdown
Dallas enters Sunday hunting a fourth straight win, and they are doing it with the confidence of a team that can take a punch early and still walk out with the cash. Friday’s 4 to 3 victory over Utah proved exactly that. The Stars spotted the Mammoth a 2 to 0 lead and then calmly turned on the specialty team machine that has been carrying them through the heavy travel grind.
Coach Glen Gulutzan admitted the recent Edmonton to Seattle to Dallas stretch had everyone skating around like their batteries were at 2 percent. So when five on five becomes a slog, he leans on the power play and his penalty killers, and once again they delivered. Dallas went two for five on the man advantage, denied Utah on both of their chances, and Jake Oettinger shut the door late with nine third period saves.
This Dallas power play leads the entire league in goals and efficiency, and with Ottawa’s penalty kill ranking near the bottom of the NHL, this matchup looks tailor made for another explosive outing. Oettinger has been rock solid as well, winning six of his last seven and sitting near the top of the league in victories.
Expect Dallas to push the pace, attack Ottawa’s shaky penalty kill, and force this game into their preferred structure.
Ottawa Senators Betting Breakdown
Ottawa arrives in Dallas for stop six of a grueling seven game road trip. They have salvaged three wins so far, but Friday’s late collapse against St Louis left the team frustrated and their coach irritated. Three goals allowed in the third period turned a strong effort into a regulation loss that stung deeply.
The Senators did get a major boost with the return of Brady Tkachuk after thumb surgery. He looked sharp immediately with an assist and brings back the physical presence and finishing ability Ottawa has been missing. Fabian Zetterlund has also heated up with three goals in the last four games, giving the Senators an extra scoring spark on this long trip.
Ridly Greig may also rejoin the lineup after practicing Saturday, adding more depth down the middle. In net, Ottawa is expected to turn to Linus Ullmark, who is red hot with three straight wins.
Still, their penalty kill remains a glaring issue, and facing the league’s most dangerous power play is not an ideal way to fix it.

Ottawa has some momentum and key players returning, but Dallas is simply too strong at home, too efficient on special teams, and too confident after a strong week. Unless the Senators play a perfectly disciplined game, Dallas is positioned to control the scoreboard.
