Tampa Bay vs St. Louis NHL Preview & Pick

Moneyline: Tampa Bay -190
Spread: Tampa Bay -1.5 (+135)
Total: 5.5

Tampa Bay Lightning Betting Breakdown

Tampa Bay has completely flipped the script after a slow opening to the season. The Lightning have rattled off 11 straight wins and now head into St. Louis chasing a franchise-record 12th consecutive victory. They have not dropped a game since mid-December and are clearly peaking at the right time.

Even with Brayden Point sidelined, Tampa Bay has tightened things up defensively and shown they can win lower-scoring, playoff-style games. That approach paid off in Pittsburgh earlier this week and has been a theme during this winning streak. The Lightning already handled St. Louis once during this run with a convincing road-style effort.

Andrei Vasilevskiy continues to look like his old self and has been nearly unbeatable lately. Tampa Bay is getting contributions throughout the lineup, playing disciplined hockey, and staying composed in close games. At -190 on the moneyline, the Lightning are priced as a clear favorite and it is hard to argue with the current form.

St. Louis Blues Betting Breakdown

St. Louis comes into this matchup off a much-needed bounce-back win, shutting out Carolina to snap a short losing stretch. The Blues leaned heavily into structure and defensive responsibility, focusing on forechecking, blocking shots, and limiting mistakes. It was one of their more complete efforts of the season.

That said, injuries remain a concern. Robert Thomas is now on injured reserve and will miss at least two weeks, which is a significant loss for a team that already struggles to generate consistent offense. St. Louis will likely try to slow this game down again, but sustaining that style against a red-hot Tampa Bay team is a tall order.

Home ice helps, but the Blues are still short-handed and facing one of the league’s hottest goaltenders. They may keep things close early, though scoring enough to win remains the biggest question.

Prediction and Betting Outlook

Tampa Bay is a -190 moneyline favorite with the total set at 5.5. Given the Lightning’s defensive commitment, Vasilevskiy’s current form, and St. Louis missing key offensive pieces, Tampa Bay has a strong edge.

The Blues will try to grind this game down, but Tampa Bay has already proven it can win tight, low-event matchups during this streak.

Score Prediction: Lightning 3, Blues 1
Pick: Tampa Bay -1.5 (+135)
Total: Under 5.5 (+102)
