Phoenix Suns Betting Preview

Phoenix found a creative solution to a guard shortage by turning the game into a paint clinic. With Devin Booker sidelined and Collin Gillespie and Jalen Green unavailable, the Suns leaned heavily on center Mark Williams and it paid off. Williams erupted for a season high 27 points on an ultra efficient 13 of 16 shooting, powering Phoenix to a comeback win and snapping a brief losing skid.

The Suns dominated the interior, scoring 72 points in the paint, and Williams made his presence felt immediately. He also logged 30 minutes, only the third time he has reached that mark this season, as the team continues to carefully manage his workload due to prior knee issues. Williams has been effective all season when featured, but Phoenix has been selective about extending his minutes.

Phoenix showed toughness late, especially during a chippy finish that featured multiple technical fouls and physical play. The Suns proved they will not shy away from contact, which helps at home, but depth remains a concern. Booker is not expected to play, while Gillespie and Green remain questionable, leaving Phoenix thin again against an elite opponent.

Detroit Pistons Betting Preview

Detroit continues to justify its place atop the Eastern Conference. The Pistons picked up a gritty 109-107 road win in Denver after building an 18 point lead and surviving a late push. Cade Cunningham and Tobias Harris each scored 22 points, continuing a stretch where Detroit has won six of seven and nine of its last eleven games.

Harris also reached a major milestone, appearing in his 1,000th career game and calmly knocking down two free throws with two seconds left to seal the victory. His consistency has been vital for a Detroit team that has learned how to close games, even when margins are tight. Four of their recent wins have come by four points or fewer.

Detroit already owns a 108 105 win over Phoenix from Jan. 15, a game Booker also missed. In that matchup, Jalen Duren posted 16 points and 18 rebounds, controlling the glass and setting the tone inside. The Pistons have balanced scoring, physical interior play, and growing confidence, all signs of a team that expects to win.

NBA Prediction and Betting Outlook

Phoenix will again attack the paint, but Detroit is far better equipped to counter that style. The Pistons have the size, discipline, and late game composure to handle a shorthanded Suns squad. Expect a competitive game early before Detroit’s depth and execution take over.

Final Score: Pistons 108, Suns 101
Lean: Detroit -4.5
