Miami Ohio RedHawks: Undefeated Flying Circus

There is hot. There is scorching. And then there is Miami Ohio, the last undefeated team standing, casually strolling into Friday night with a 24-0 record like it forgot how losing even works.

While the rest of the country has been tripping over itself, the RedHawks just keep stacking wins like it is a loyalty rewards program. They survived a scare at Marshall, built a massive lead, let things get mildly dramatic for television purposes, then calmly slammed the door. That has basically been their personality all season. Calm. Cool. Mildly terrifying.

Offensively, this group scores in waves. They shoot over 50 percent from the field so often it feels automatic. The ball moves, the threes drop, and if that fails they attack inside. Even after losing their starting point guard earlier in the year, the machine never stalled. Brant Byers and Peter Suder carry steady scoring loads, Antwone Woolfolk handles the paint work, and Eian Elmer recently caught absolute fire from deep.

What is scary for opponents is that the defense is now catching up to the offense. Earlier in the year, Miami was winning track meets. Lately, they are winning with stops. When an elite offense starts caring about defense, that is when blowouts start happening.

At home, with rivalry energy in the building and history staring them in the face, expect Miami to play with confidence bordering on cocky.

Ohio Bobcats: Streak Crash Candidates

Ohio is not walking into Oxford waving a white flag. The Bobcats are talented enough to score, but consistency has been the issue. They shoot well enough to hang around, yet their perimeter accuracy and free throw struggles have popped up at the worst moments.

Jackson Paveletzke leads the charge offensively, but when he is bottled up, the attack can stall. Aidan Hadaway and Javan Simmons provide scoring balance, though putting together a full 40 minutes has been elusive. They have shown flashes in losses but have struggled to sustain momentum.

Against an undefeated team that thrives on runs, you cannot afford cold stretches. If Ohio lets Miami build one of those 12-2 spurts, it could snowball quickly. The key for the Bobcats is slowing the tempo and turning this into a half court battle instead of a highlight reel.

Betting Breakdown and Prediction

The total at 163.5 suggests points will be plentiful, and Miami has proven it can light up the scoreboard. Ohio can contribute offensively, but the difference here is efficiency and defensive discipline.

Miami Ohio has been covering numbers because they do not panic. When challenged, they respond. With a 10 point spread at home and the longest winning streak in the country on the line, the RedHawks should control this game late.

Expect rivalry energy early, but depth and execution win out.
