Las Vegas Aces: Feeling Dangerous
The Aces are back home after a perfect four-game road trip where they basically treated the rest of the league like traffic cones. Las Vegas has now won four straight games after that ugly opening-night loss to Phoenix, and since then the Aces have been beating teams by an average of 16 points per game.
Apparently getting embarrassed once was enough motivation.
A’ja Wilson continues playing basketball like she created the sport personally. The four-time MVP is averaging 25 points, 5.6 rebounds, and two blocks while casually reminding defenses they made terrible life choices trying to guard her one-on-one.
Then there’s Chennedy Carter coming off the bench like a caffeinated tornado. She’s averaging 19.4 points and getting into the paint so easily that opposing defenders may start filing missing person reports. Chelsea Gray probably sleeps peacefully now knowing Carter can turn any possession into immediate chaos.
Meanwhile Jackie Young’s scoring has dipped early this season, but that somehow hasn’t mattered because the Aces still look terrifying offensively.
Which feels unfair honestly.
Los Angeles Sparks: Trying Therapy Basketball
The Sparks entered the season talking about championships and quickly discovered the WNBA schedule does not care about your dreams. Los Angeles started by getting steamrolled by the Aces and followed that with more inconsistency than a gas station lottery ticket.
Still, the Sparks are at least showing signs of life lately.
Dearica Hamby exploded for 27 points against Phoenix while Kelsey Plum somehow stayed under 25 points for the first time all season. That sentence alone sounds fake considering Plum is averaging 24.6 points and currently treats defenders like unwanted house guests.
Los Angeles keeps talking about “hard conversations” and “looking in the mirror,” which is usually sports code for “everyone yelled at each other after losses.” Sometimes that actually works, though, and the Sparks did look noticeably sharper against Phoenix.
The problem is they now face a Las Vegas team that already blasted them by 27 earlier this month. That memory probably still haunts the group chat.
The Sparks can absolutely score enough to stay competitive for stretches, but defensively they still resemble people trying to assemble IKEA furniture without instructions.
LVSB Final Score Prediction
Las Vegas simply has too much firepower, too much experience, and way too much confidence right now. The Sparks should compete harder than the first meeting, but the Aces eventually overwhelm teams with pace and depth.
Final Score: Aces 97, Sparks 87
