Las Vegas vs Los Angeles Preview & Prediction

Los Angeles Sparks Betting Preview

The Sparks enter Commissioner’s Cup play dealing with a major problem after Kelsey Plum suffered a right ankle sprain that is expected to keep her sidelined again Tuesday night. That is a massive blow for Los Angeles considering Plum has carried this offense all season with 26.8 points and 6.3 assists per game.

Oddly enough, the Sparks already proved they can compete with Las Vegas earlier this month when they pulled off a 101-95 upset on the road. Los Angeles won the second half 55-44 in that game and controlled the third quarter, exposing some defensive lapses from the Aces.

Without Plum available, however, the pressure immediately shifts toward Dearica Hamby and Ariel Atkins. Hamby has been one of the most consistent forwards in the WNBA this season at 17 points per game, but she struggled badly Saturday against Connecticut, finishing with only 11 points on 4-of-13 shooting.

Los Angeles still has enough athleticism and perimeter scoring to stay competitive for stretches, especially at home, but the margin for error becomes extremely thin without their top playmaker on the floor. Against a team as explosive as Las Vegas, offensive droughts can quickly turn into double-digit deficits.

Sparks Player Prop Pick: Dearica Hamby Over 16.5 Points
With Kelsey Plum sidelined, Hamby should carry a much larger offensive workload. Los Angeles will need her attacking aggressively early and often to keep pace with Las Vegas.

Las Vegas Aces Betting Preview

The Aces finally looked like themselves again Sunday after snapping a two-game skid with a convincing 91-81 road win over Golden State. Las Vegas completely dominated the third quarter, outscoring the Valkyries 29-13 while holding them under 19 percent shooting from the floor.

That stretch perfectly reflected what coach Becky Hammon has been emphasizing lately. The Aces have struggled closing games and maintaining consistency after halftime during several losses this season. Against Golden State, they finally delivered a complete second-half performance.

A’ja Wilson once again looked unstoppable with 28 points and 15 rebounds, continuing her MVP-level pace early in the season. Jackie Young also played one of her strongest all-around games with 23 points and nine assists.

Las Vegas remains one of the league’s most dangerous offensive teams when the ball movement is flowing and Wilson controls the paint. The Aces already destroyed Los Angeles by 27 points in the first meeting this season before dropping the rematch in Vegas.

Now they face a Sparks team missing its biggest offensive weapon, which dramatically changes the matchup outlook.

Aces Player Prop Pick: A’ja Wilson Over 24.5 Points
Wilson dominated Golden State and should continue attacking aggressively against a Sparks defense missing Plum’s offensive pressure on the other end.

WNBA Final Score & Expert Prediction

Los Angeles deserves credit for stealing one matchup against Las Vegas earlier this season, but the absence of Kelsey Plum completely shifts the balance here.

The Aces have rediscovered their rhythm offensively, and Wilson looks ready to take over another game inside. Without enough consistent scoring around Hamby and Atkins, the Sparks may struggle keeping pace for four quarters.

Final Score: Aces 94, Sparks 82
Lean: Las Vegas Aces -8.0
Total:
Over 174.5
