East Lake Sets the Stage for Golf’s Finale

The 2026 Tour Championship returns to East Lake Golf Club from August 27-30, bringing the PGA Tour season to a high-stakes finish. The top 30 players in the FedEx Cup standings will compete in a no-cut, 72-hole event for a massive $40 million purse, with $10 million awarded to the champion.

For bettors, the biggest change is the format. The staggered starting-strokes system is gone, meaning every golfer begins at even par. No more giving the FedEx Cup leader a head start before Thursday even begins.

That reset should create a much cleaner betting market. Outright winner odds, top-five and top-10 finishes, round leaders, head-to-head matchups and scoring props all become easier to evaluate because every player starts from the same position.

With only 30 elite golfers in the field and no cut to worry about, East Lake offers four guaranteed rounds of betting action. The new format also increases the potential for long-shot value, since nobody begins the week already several strokes behind.

Read on to see our picks for this week.

The Prediction: Collin Morikawa 18/1 (+1800)

Collin Morikawa looks like a strong outright win candidate at the 2026 Tour Championship, especially with every player starting at even par. He ranks 1st on Tour in Strokes Gained: Approach (+0.798) and has gained with his irons in 17 straight starts.

Add a runner-up at East Lake in 2024 and a recent T4 at the BMW Championship, and the setup fits perfectly.

My prediction: Morikawa stays in contention all week and has a real shot to win the FedEx Cup.

Propping up:

  1. Take Scottie Scheffler for Top-3 finish +105.
  2. Take Patrick Cantlay for Top-5 finish +190.
  3. Take Hideki Matsuyama for Top-10 finish +105.
  4. Take Adam Scott for Top Australasian Player +130.
  5. Take Wyndham Clark -120 over Sam Burns in Tournament Match Up.
  6. Long Shot Bets – Take Gary Woodland for Top-5 finish +500.
  7. Bonus Bet – Collin Morikawa to win by 2 or More Shots +2800
