Miami Heat 2022-23 NBA Preview, Season Odds, Props & Futures Predictions

Can the Heat Keep Up in Ever Improving Eastern Conference

The Miami Heat have been defying expectations for a few seasons now. With Jimmy Butler leading the way, they made the NBA Finals in the bubble in 2019-20. Last year, helped in part with the addition of Kyle Lowry, they had the best record in the East during the regular season and were one missed three-pointer away from another Finals trip.

The Heat have one of the best coaches in the game in Erik Spoelstra and one of the best team cultures where they seem to win, no matter who you plug and play in the lineup.

They were part of the pursuit of Donovan Mitchell, but in the end, they decided to run it back with essentially the same crew, minus one of their key glue pieces in P.J. Tucker.

There comes a time when age catches up to every great team, and with Butler (33) and Lowry (36) playing so many hard minutes in their hall of fame careers, one wonders if that time is now?

Liev Jackson NBA Season Prediction on Heat:

Never count out the Miami Heat. At the same time their lineup is not an inspiring one, especially for the regular season. My favorite pick is Herro as 6th man, if he counts in that category. His offensive game continues to improve as he hit on 40% of his three-pointers and 44.7% in overall shooting last year with a scoring average that jumped to 20.7 PPG.

Team wise, it’s championship or bust, especially given the age of its leaders and I think they’ll use the regular season to more strategically, which means calculated rest for the veterans and more playing time for the unheralded support staff.

Favorite bets for the season at current odds include:

2021-22 Record: 53-29
My Record Prediction:
 47-35
