WNBA Preview and Prediction: Chicago Sky vs. Atlanta Dream
Spread: Atlanta -12.5 | Total: 159.5
Atlanta Dream Outlook
Atlanta (6-3) enters Friday night looking dominant, winning five of its last six and thriving at home (3-1). After a brief stumble against Connecticut, the Dream bounced back by crushing Indiana 77-58, even without facing Caitlin Clark.
Allisha Gray continues to impress with 20.4 PPG, while Brionna Jones has stepped in as a force in the paint, averaging nearly 14 points and a team-high 9 boards. Her toughness and polished post-game have given Atlanta a clear edge inside. With the defense clamping down recently, allowing under 70 PPG in wins, this team is locked in.
Expect Atlanta to push the pace, exploit mismatches inside, and lean into its depth.
Chicago Sky Outlook
Chicago (2-6) is reeling. Not only do they give up a league-high 89.5 PPG, but they’re also the only team allowing over 40% from deep. Losing veteran Courtney Vandersloot to an ACL tear only adds to the chaos.
Angel Reese showed promise with 17 points and 11 rebounds last game, but outside of that spark, the Sky have been overwhelmed, giving up 85+ points in six games already. The team chemistry is off, and their defensive rotations are a mess.
If Chicago doesn’t show immediate improvement on defense, this one could get out of hand early.
Prediction
Atlanta is simply the better team on both ends of the court. With home-court energy and far more stability, expect a comfortable win. Dream cover the spread and the game stays just under the total.
