The Denver Broncos are 1-0 after cruising past Atlanta 27-7, because apparently nobody told Sean Payton that preseason games are supposed to be meaningless.
Denver enters tonight as a 5.5-point favorite, while the total sits at 40.5.
Bo Nix will make his preseason debut after sitting out Week 1. He is expected to play roughly 14 snaps as he works his way back from a January ankle fracture. Translation: Broncos fans get just enough Nix to get excited before the backups take over.
Denver also ran the ball 39 times in its opener, so don’t expect Payton to suddenly transform this into an Air Raid convention.
Packers Need a Pulse
Green Bay opened its preseason with a 28-9 loss to Pittsburgh, which is about as enjoyable as stepping barefoot on a Lego.
Jordan Love should get limited work with the starters before Tyrod Taylor and Kyle McCord handle most of the quarterback duties.
Green Bay will also continue sorting through its secondary, with Keisean Nixon, Benjamin St-Juste and Carrington Valentine fighting for opportunities.
Nothing says preseason football quite like betting money while coaches evaluate their fourth cornerback.

Denver has won eight straight preseason games and looked significantly sharper than Green Bay in Week 1.
The Broncos also have more incentive to give Nix meaningful early work, while Green Bay appears focused on getting Jordan Love a quick tune-up and getting him safely back onto the sideline.
Laying 5.5 points in preseason football is never particularly relaxing because eventually somebody named Chad from the practice squad controls your financial happiness.
Still, Denver has shown enough preseason commitment to earn our money.
