Despite this, convicted fraudster and co-founder of Fyre Fest, Billy McFarland, has announced that a second attempt at the event is currently in progress. In other words, there is a less than 50/50 chance of Fyre Fest 2.0 being successfully organized and proceeding before the end of 2024.
The first attempt at Fyre Fest in 2017 turned into a disaster, with partygoers arriving to find FEMA disaster relief tents and subpar food. Promised musical acts also failed to appear. McFarland was subsequently arrested and charged with wire fraud, ultimately serving six years in prison before being released prematurely.
Despite his past, McFarland is now attempting to organize Fyre Fest 2.0, promising a better experience. Early bird tickets have already sold out, and future ticket drops are expected, with prices increasing up to $7,999 per ticket. For those unable to attend, McFarland claims a Fyre Fest musical is in the works.
