Milwaukee vs San Diego MLB Preview & Pick

Moneyline: Milwaukee -121
Runline: Milwaukee -1.5 (+150)
Total: 7.0

The Brewers roll into San Diego as slight -121 favorites, which feels like Vegas saying, “Good luck picking this one.” Milwaukee owns baseball’s best record, while the Padres have suddenly remembered they’re allowed to hit home runs. The total sits at a pitcher-friendly 7.0, but somebody forgot to tell these offenses.

Padres Shopping Spree Already Paying Off

San Diego’s newest purchase, Austin Hays, wasted absolutely zero time making an impression. Hours after signing, he launched a two-run homer in his first Padres at-bat, proving unpacking is optional.

Fernando Tatis Jr. added a three-run blast as the Padres crushed Houston 7-2, making it 12 wins in their last 16 games. San Diego remains just one game out of a National League Wild Card spot, so every win now feels like finding extra fries at the bottom of the bag.

Mize Needs a Much Better Sequel

Casey Mize (4-7, 3.40 ERA) hopes his second Padres start goes a little smoother than the first. His debut looked more like a batting practice session after allowing eight runs in just 3 1/3 innings against Arizona.

The good news? He’s already beaten Milwaukee once this season and owns a solid 3.18 ERA in two career starts versus the Brewers.

Brewers Keep Winning Because… Brewers

Milwaukee (74-44) keeps treating baseball like it’s a weekly office meeting they never miss. They’ve won six of their last seven series and somehow continue piling up victories despite injuries and a brutal schedule.

Logan Henderson (6-1, 2.70 ERA) gets the ball after striking out eight Pirates in his last outing. Meanwhile, Jake Bauers is enjoying a career year with a .271 average, 21 homers and 67 RBIs, while Bryce Turang has stuffed the stat sheet with 16 homers, 74 RBIs and 16 steals.

When you’re top two in ERA and top five in scoring, life gets a whole lot easier.

LVSB Prediction

Milwaukee’s balance gives them the edge, but this should be a tight battle. Expect the Brewers’ pitching to cool off San Diego’s hot bats just enough to steal the opener.

Final Score: Brewers 4, Padres 3
