Game Preview

Game 4 proved a setback for the Florida Panthers, who now have three more opportunities to defeat the Edmonton Oilers in the Stanley Cup Final. They begin their quest anew with Tuesday’s home game in Sunrise, Fla.

Leading the series 3-1, the Panthers missed their first chance to secure their inaugural franchise championship in a disappointing 8-1 loss in Edmonton on Saturday. The defeat highlighted a failure to match the Oilers’ intensity, a lesson not lost on Panthers coach Paul Maurice.

"We needed that experience," Maurice remarked on Monday. "While we would have preferred a win, there’s value in learning from tough losses like that."

Despite the one-sided score, the Oilers only earned one win, allowing the Panthers ample opportunity to regroup and refocus before potentially clinching the championship in front of their home crowd.
