Game Preview

The wait is over for Utah Hockey Club fans as official jerseys finally go on sale Friday, just hours before the team hosts the Vegas Golden Knights in Salt Lake City. Anticipation is high, with long lines expected at the Delta Center’s team store for the franchise’s first jersey drop since relocating from Phoenix on April 18.

Fans will find select player jerseys, including Clayton Keller, Logan Cooley, and Nick Schmaltz, along with customizable blank jerseys for the club’s inaugural season. Backup goalie Karel Vejmelka’s No. 70 jersey could be a popular pick after his standout performance on Wednesday.

Vejmelka delivered a career-high 49 saves in Utah’s 4-1 victory over Carolina, earning "Veggie" chants from the crowd and first-star honors. "It’s a night to remember for me and for everybody," said Vejmelka, visibly energized by the moment.

The game also featured strong defensive efforts, with Utah killing 11 minutes of Hurricanes’ power plays and blocking 26 shots, including six each from Ian Cole and Mikhail Sergachev. Coach Andre Tourigny praised his team’s resilience, saying, "Veggie was good, and the guys defended the slot well."

The Golden Knights, leaders in the Pacific Division with 22 points, head to Salt Lake City fresh off a 3-2 win over Anaheim. Pavel Dorofeyev notched his team-leading ninth goal, while Adin Hill bounced back from a rough outing to stop 22 of 24 shots. Vegas continues a road-heavy November schedule, having won the first of their Fathers Trip games.

This game marks the second of three matchups this month between Vegas and Utah. The Golden Knights claimed the first encounter on Nov. 2 with Brett Howden’s overtime winner. Fans can expect an exciting showdown as Utah looks to build on their momentum and Vegas aims to extend their division lead.
