New York Mets Outlook
The Mets are looking to ride their current momentum into a series win against the Dodgers as they send Kodai Senga (4-3, 1.43 ERA) to the hill. Senga has been masterful this season and continues to shine as the rotation’s ace. He allowed three earned runs over six innings in a hard-luck loss to Boston in his last outing but remains a strong bet at home, where he’s held opponents to a .178 batting average.
Offensively, Brett Baty has exploded since being recalled from Triple-A, going 14-for-44 (.318) with five home runs and 13 RBIs in 15 games. Hitting from the nine-hole, he’s been a quiet MVP for the Mets and could be a sneaky value prop to go Over 1.5 Total Bases.
Juan Soto, despite a recent slump, came through with a clutch two-run double on Saturday his first extra-base hit since May 9. If you’re bold, taking Soto to Record an RBI could pay off, especially as his bat heats up.
Los Angeles Dodgers Outlook
Landon Knack (2-1, 6.17 ERA) takes the mound for L.A., still trying to establish himself. He gave up four runs in five innings of relief last time out, and he’s been vulnerable to hard contact, especially early. The Mets tagged him for five runs in two innings in the NLCS last year, so a similar outcome wouldn’t surprise.
Offensively, the Dodgers’ star trio Shohei Ohtani, Mookie Betts, and Freddie Freeman was ice cold Saturday, combining to go 1-for-12 with five strikeouts. Ohtani may make headlines for a different reason, though, as he’s slated to throw live BP for the first time since Tommy John surgery. While that’s a big step, it won’t help at the plate Sunday.
For value, Freddie Freeman Over 1.5 Total Bases is intriguing he’s due for a breakout and has good career numbers against Senga. Also consider Betts to Record a Hit, as he’s too consistent to stay quiet for long.
