Dallas Wings
The Wings finally landed their first win of the 2025 campaign, and they didn’t just win they exploded. Dallas dropped 109 points on the Connecticut Sun in a performance that finally showcased their potential on both ends of the floor. Rookie sensation Paige Bueckers came alive, pouring in a game-high 21 points on an eye-popping 8-of-10 shooting while dishing seven assists. Arike Ogunbowale chipped in 19 points and grabbed six of the team’s 10 steals in a relentless defensive display.
Coach Chris Koclanes earned his first career win, and now the Wings are looking to build momentum against a Chicago squad still searching for answers. If Dallas can replicate their balance on offense and continue creating turnovers, they’ll be in a great spot to cover the small spread and string together back-to-back wins.
Chicago Sky
The Sky are still stuck in neutral after letting a 16-point second-half lead slip away in Tuesday’s collapse against Phoenix. Despite a strong showing from Ariel Atkins (21 points), and double-doubles from both Courtney Vandersloot (15 points, 11 assists) and Angel Reese (13 points, 15 boards), the defense simply unraveled.
Phoenix torched Chicago for 12 threes in the second half alone a glaring sign that perimeter defense remains a major issue. The Sky have shown flashes of offensive promise, but until they can string together stops, they’ll remain stuck in the L column. Coach Tyler Marsh is still chasing his first win, and the pressure is mounting.
Chicago did go 3-1 vs. Dallas last season and swept both home games convincingly, but this is a very different Wings team, faster, younger, and now with a taste of victory.
