Colin Rea (5-3, 4.37 ERA) will toe the rubber, looking to build on a solid outing against Houston. Despite a disastrous start two appearances ago vs. Seattle, Rea has mostly kept the Cubs competitive when he’s on the hill. He has limited St. Louis in past meetings, though not without his lumps.
Chicago’s bats, especially Pete Crow-Armstrong and Kyle Tucker, are rolling and both just earned All-Star nods. With energy high, and the Cards reeling, the Cubs have a golden opportunity to put the division further out of reach.
