Cincinnati Reds Betting Preview
Back in Ohio for their final homestand before the All-Star break, the Reds have a golden opportunity to gain ground in the NL Central and wild card standings. Despite a quiet offensive showing in Sunday’s 3-1 loss to Philadelphia, where they recorded just one hit, a solo shot by Austin Hays, Cincinnati has been hot overall, going 16-11 since June 6.
Right-hander Brady Singer (7-6, 4.36 ERA) takes the mound Monday. He had a short outing in Boston last week due to a rain delay, but in his previous matchup vs. Miami in April, he went six innings, allowing two runs with eight strikeouts in a 5-2 win. His familiarity and past success against the Marlins could be key.
Offensively, the Reds are led by NL All-Star shortstop Elly De La Cruz, who’s crushing it with 18 homers, 60 RBIs, and 22 stolen bases. He’s riding a hot streak, batting .339 over his last 15 games. Cincinnati may only have one All-Star, but they’ve got the momentum, and the home crowd behind them.
Miami Marlins Betting Preview
Miami heads to Cincinnati having won 10 of their last 13 and looking far more competitive than they did earlier in the season. They took two of three from the Reds in their April meeting and are playing with renewed confidence.
Rookie righty Janson Junk (2-1, 3.62 ERA) starts for the Fish. He’s been solid since joining the rotation, despite a tough-luck loss last time out when he gave up just two runs over six innings. Monday marks his first time facing the Reds, and he’ll need to be sharp to keep up with Cincinnati’s power bats.
Kyle Stowers, the lone Marlins All-Star, continues to rake. The left fielder has been on fire with six homers in his last 13 games and a .333 average during that span. If he stays hot, Miami has a puncher’s chance to steal Game 1.
Betting Prediction
Reds ride their ace and home-field advantage to a 5-3 win. Marlins keep it close but fall short. A solid effort, but Cincinnati gets it done at home. Lean Under with both starters showing the ability to limit damage early.
