Blue Jays vs. Reds – Game Betting Preview & Prediction
Moneyline: Toronto -164
Spread: Toronto -1.5 (+100)
Total: 8.5
Toronto Blue Jays Betting Outlook
The Blue Jays (80-59) roll into Wednesday’s series finale as the moneyline favorite (-164) after another power-packed performance. George Springer blasted two homers, while Bo Bichette and Daulton Varsho each went deep for the second consecutive game in Tuesday’s 12-9 win. The offensive explosion kept Toronto 2.5 games ahead in the AL East.
Springer has been on a scorching post-All-Star tear, hitting over .400 with 10 home runs since the break. Bichette remains just as dangerous, piling up 23 RBIs in his last 27 games and continuing to deliver in clutch situations. Toronto’s lineup has looked relentless, forcing opponents to burn through bullpens just to keep games close.
On the mound, Shane Bieber gets the start. Since returning from Tommy John surgery, the former Cy Young winner has been sharp, fanning 15 batters without issuing a walk across his last two outings. He owns a perfect 4-0 career record with a 3.20 ERA against Cincinnati, making him a reliable option to secure the series win.
Cincinnati Reds Betting Outlook
The Reds (70-69) are fading at the wrong time, having dropped nine of their last 12 games and slipping five games behind in the NL Wild Card chase. Tuesday’s comeback attempt from an early seven-run deficit showed fight, but Cincinnati’s pitching woes left them short once again.
Zack Littell will start for the Reds, carrying a 9-8 record with a 3.63 ERA. While solid overall, he’s been tagged for four runs in three of his last four starts, and that inconsistency is dangerous against a red-hot Blue Jays lineup. Littell has fared reasonably well against Toronto in limited action, going 2-0 with a 3.48 ERA in five career appearances.
Austin Hays has been one bright spot for Cincinnati, homering twice in his last three games while adding extra-base hits to keep the Reds competitive. But unless the pitching stabilizes, Cincinnati is at risk of dropping another crucial game in the standings.
Prediction & Betting Angle
Toronto’s offense is firing on all cylinders, and Bieber looks comfortable back on the mound. The Reds are scrappy, but their recent skid and Littell’s shaky form make them tough to back here.
