Golden State vs Denver Preview & Prediction

Spread: Denver -10.0
Moneyline: Denver (-440)
Total: 228.5

Golden State Warriors Betting Overview

Golden State enters this NBA Cup matchup short-handed and that’s putting it lightly. With Stephen Curry sidelined for Friday’s game against Denver, the Warriors are suddenly without their offensive heartbeat and clutch-time closer. The absence of Curry (26.8 PPG) means head coach Steve Kerr will lean heavily on Jimmy Butler, Draymond Green, and rookie Will Richard, who exploded for 30 points in Sacramento.

Without Curry’s perimeter gravity, Golden State will need to manufacture points differently, expect more inside touches for Green facilitating from the post, and a higher usage rate for Butler as a primary shot creator. The Warriors will also count on the bench to provide a spark, especially with Richard and Moses Moody likely seeing extended minutes.

While the Warriors still rank among the league’s leaders in ball movement and three-point attempts, efficiency without Curry has cratered in limited samples. For this matchup, tempo control and defensive rebounding become their only realistic path to covering the spread.

Player Prop Pick (Warriors): Jimmy Butler Over 19.5 points. With Curry out, Butler should see an uptick in shot volume and isolation touches.

Denver Nuggets Betting Overview

Denver rolls into this game with serious momentum and home-court confidence. The Nuggets have won five of their last six and continue to run their offense through Nikola Jokic, who’s averaging 24.1 points, 13.4 rebounds, and 12 assists per game. His ability to dictate tempo and punish smaller lineups will be a nightmare for Golden State’s undersized rotation.

Jamal Murray and Aaron Gordon continue to deliver as dependable scoring options, while Tim Hardaway Jr. and Christian Braun have provided key support from the second unit. Denver’s balance and efficiency — second in the NBA at 124.6 points per game, make them one of the hardest teams to keep up with, especially at home. Expect the Nuggets to test Golden State’s defense early and often with inside-out ball movement that forces mismatches.

Player Prop Pick (Nuggets): Nikola Jokic Over 9.5 assists. His playmaking has carried the offense, and Golden State’s smaller lineup should open passing lanes.

NBA Final Score & Expert Prediction

Even with Steve Kerr’s adjustments, the Warriors’ offense simply isn’t built to withstand the loss of Curry against a loaded Denver squad. Jokic and Murray dominate, and the Nuggets cruise to an easy home win.
