Minnesota vs Golden State Preview & Prediction

Minnesota Timberwolves Betting Preview

The Timberwolves head to San Francisco needing to stop the bleeding after a rough stretch that has knocked them down the Western Conference standings. Minnesota recently looked like a team on the rise after rattling off five straight wins and briefly climbing into third place in the conference. That momentum has vanished quickly with three consecutive losses, each one coming by a large margin.

Defense has been the biggest concern during this skid. Minnesota allowed the Los Angeles Clippers to explode for 153 points in their latest defeat, with Kawhi Leonard torching them for 45 points while the Clippers shot 63.4 percent from the field and over 51 percent from beyond the arc. Chris Finch’s squad simply could not slow anything down on that end of the floor.

Anthony Edwards did his part offensively with 36 points in that game, continuing to carry a large portion of Minnesota’s scoring load. Naz Reid chipped in 18 points, but Julius Randle struggled, finishing with just 11 points on 3 of 10 shooting.

Minnesota still has one of the more talented rosters in the West, and their ability to rebound after poor performances has been a strength this season. With playoff positioning tightening, the Timberwolves know they cannot afford many more defensive collapses.

Timberwolves Player Prop Pick – Anthony Edwards Over 28.5 Points
Edwards remains Minnesota’s offensive engine and continues to see a massive usage rate during this stretch. With the Warriors dealing with defensive gaps, the value leans toward Over 28.5 Points in this matchup.

Golden State Warriors Betting Preview

Golden State enters this contest fighting just to remain in the Western Conference play in picture. The Warriors have slipped below .500 for the first time in nearly three months and currently sit ninth in the conference standings.

Injuries have played a major role in the team’s struggles. Stephen Curry has missed the past 15 games with a knee issue, and several other rotation players have also been sidelined recently. Without Curry orchestrating the offense, Golden State has gone just 5-10 during that span.

The Warriors are coming off back to back frustrating losses. After falling to Utah, they dropped a 130-124 overtime decision to Chicago despite holding a late lead. Golden State had balanced scoring in that game with LJ Cryer, Gui Santos, Kristaps Porzingis and Pat Spencer each finishing with 17 points.

With veterans missing time, younger players have been asked to step up. Guard Brandin Podziemski is one of the key pieces Golden State will rely on during the final stretch of the season.

Warriors Player Prop Pick – Brandin Podziemski Over 4.5 Assists
Podziemski continues to see steady minutes in the backcourt and contributes across multiple categories. Given the expected pace of this matchup, Over 4.5 Assists presents strong value.

NBA Final Score & Expert Prediction

Minnesota enters as a 6.5 point favorite with the total set at 224.0. The Timberwolves clearly have the deeper roster and the healthier star power with Edwards leading the offense.

However, Golden State tends to keep games competitive at home, especially when playing with urgency in the playoff race. Expect the Warriors’ young lineup to keep things close for most of the night.

Minnesota’s scoring talent should still prove decisive late, but the spread appears slightly inflated.

Final Score: Timberwolves 115, Warriors 111
Lean: Warriors +6.5
Total:
Over 224.0
