Philadelphia Flyers: Goaltender Stealing Show
Philadelphia is sitting at -125 and up 3-0 in the series, which basically means they’re one win away from sending Pittsburgh on an early summer vacation.
Let’s start with Dan Vladar, who has decided this is his personal highlight reel tour. A .946 save percentage in the series and a 27-save shutout in Game 2? That’s not goaltending, that’s robbery with no consequences. He even tweaked his arm in Game 3 and still said, “Yeah, I’ll be fine,” because apparently pain is optional right now.
Offensively, it’s been a group project. Trevor Zegras and Noah Cates chipped in with a goal and an assist each, while four players scored their first-ever playoff goals. Basically, everyone is invited to the scoring party.
And the crowd? Absolute chaos. The kind of energy where opposing teams start questioning their life choices mid-shift.
Bottom line, Philly isn’t just winning, they’re enjoying it.
Pittsburgh Penguins: Facing Elimination Reality
Pittsburgh is down 3-0, which is hockey’s version of “everything is fine” while the building is clearly on fire.
Evgeni Malkin has two goals in the series, which is impressive until you realize that equals the rest of the team combined. Not ideal when you’re trying to win hockey games.
Sidney Crosby is out here preaching “one game at a time,” which is technically correct but also sounds like a guy trying to convince himself this isn’t over.
Defensively? Let’s just say it’s been… optional. And now they’re switching goalies to Arturs Silovs, hoping for a miracle reset. Meanwhile, Stuart Skinner gets a break after posting a 3.08 GAA and an .873 save percentage. Not terrible, not great, definitely not “save the season” numbers.
History is also not on their side. Coming back from 3-0 is basically a once-in-a-decade event, and the Penguins have never pulled it off.
So yeah… the margin for error is somewhere between zero and nonexistent.
LVSB NHL Playoffs Prediction
Flyers at -125 feels almost disrespectful considering they’ve been dominating this series like it’s a preseason scrimmage.
Total at 6.0 makes sense, but honestly, it depends on whether Pittsburgh shows up or just sends a postcard.
Philly has the goalie, the depth, the momentum, and the crowd. Pittsburgh has… hope. And maybe a new goalie.
If you’re betting on a comeback here, you’re basically betting on history being rewritten overnight.
