Liberty Finally Found the On Switch
New York enters Thursday at 23-15 and suddenly looks dangerous again after going 10-3 since July 20. The Liberty just beat Indiana 109-102 while shooting 57.8% from the field and drilling 11 threes, because apparently subtlety is overrated.
Breanna Stewart stuffed the box score with 22 points, eight rebounds and seven assists. Leonie Fiebich returned from a foot injury and scored 20, while Jonquel Jones added 19 points and 10 rebounds. With Sabrina Ionescu and Pauline Astier also back in the preferred starting five, New York is finally looking less like an injury report and more like a contender.
Golden State Keeps Rolling
The Valkyries are 27-11 and have won eight of their last 10 after crushing Connecticut 89-64 on Wednesday. Their bench did most of the damage, setting a franchise record with 54 points.
Janelle Salaun scored 15, Kaila Charles had 14 and Kaitlyn Chen added 10. That is lovely depth. The only issue? Golden State now has to play again less than 24 hours later.
LVSB Betting Take
New York is favored by 2.5, and the scheduling spot matters. Golden State is excellent, but the Liberty are healthier, at home and playing some of their best basketball of the season.
The Valkyries can absolutely keep this competitive, but New York’s offensive form and fresher legs give them the edge late.
