They just won their first World Series since 1995 and have signed players to team-friendly contracts, creating a long window of contention. This stability was possible despite the John Coppolella scandal, making Anthopolous’ tenure one of the most successful in baseball.
The Braves have an incredibly talented and controlled core that’s signed long-term contracts, with Ronald Acuna Jr. (2028), Austin Riley (2033), Ozzie Albies (2027), Michael Harris II (2032) and Spencer Strider (2029) all in the fold. What to expect in 2023?
The Braves are arguably the strongest team in the NL East and are well-positioned to handle any injuries that could occur due to their strong roster depth. With young stars like Grissom and Harris, there is some risk in betting on them, but their status as a model organization make them an attractive option.
