Golden State vs Las Vegas Preview & Prediction

Spread: Las Vegas -3.0
Moneyline: Las Vegas (-150)
Total: 169.0

Golden State Valkyries: Rebound Battle Looms

The Valkyries head to Las Vegas carrying a respectable 6-4 record, but they also bring one rather inconvenient problem: rebounding. At this point, opponents are collecting missed shots like they’re handing out free casino buffet coupons.

Golden State just got bullied on the glass by Minnesota, losing the rebounding battle 43-31. Unfortunately, that wasn’t a one-time issue. Las Vegas also dominated the boards in the previous meeting, winning that category 45-33.

That’s not exactly the kind of trend you want when your next opponent employs A’ja Wilson, who treats rebounds like they’re limited-edition collectibles.

The Valkyries have shown plenty of offensive firepower throughout the season, but if they continue giving opponents extra possessions, they’re basically playing basketball on hard mode.

Las Vegas Aces: MVP Leading Charge

The Aces own one of the WNBA’s best records at 6-3. The funny part? They still haven’t won a home game.

Apparently Las Vegas is excellent everywhere except Las Vegas.

The good news is that A’ja Wilson continues to look like a player created in a video game. With injuries affecting Jewell Loyd, Chennedy Carter, and Dana Evans, coach Becky Hammon decided to try something creative and informed Wilson she’d be playing the wing.

Wilson’s reaction was essentially, “Wait… what?”

Then she casually delivered 25 points, 15 rebounds, and five blocks.

Most players need months to learn a new position. Wilson apparently needs about five minutes.

Las Vegas remains one of the league’s elite rebounding teams, averaging 37.3 boards per game. If Golden State struggles on the glass again, the Aces could spend most of the afternoon collecting second-chance opportunities and making life miserable.

LVSB Final Score Prediction

This matchup feels pretty simple.

Golden State can absolutely compete offensively, but rebounding is becoming a recurring issue. Facing an Aces team that already dominated them on the boards once is like showing up to a math test after skipping all the classes.

Las Vegas is overdue for its first home win, and Wilson looks ready to continue her MVP-level dominance regardless of where Becky Hammon decides to play her.

The Aces finally remember they’re allowed to win at home, while A’ja Wilson continues making basketball look unfair.

Final Score: Aces 89, Valkyries 82
Lean: Las Vegas Aces -3.0
