NY Yankees vs Boston MLB Preview & Pick

Moneyline: Boston -114
Runline: Boston -1.5 (+180)
Total: 8.0

Nothing says “Yankees-Red Sox rivalry” quite like Boston stealing everyone’s lunch money for three straight games. The Red Sox are -114 moneyline favorites, laying -1.5 (+180) with the total sitting at 8.0 runs. If you’re a Yankees fan, you may want to keep the remote within throwing distance.

Boston Red Sox: Pitching Like It’s 1988

Boston’s starting rotation has been absolutely ridiculous. The Red Sox have ripped off 10 consecutive quality starts, something they haven’t accomplished since 1988. Connelly Early, Payton Tolle and rookie Jake Bennett have combined to make the Yankees’ lineup look like it forgot its bats back at the hotel.

Now it’s Sonny Gray’s turn to keep the party going.

Gray enters with a sparkling 9-1 record and a 2.95 ERA, and since returning from the injured list he’s been nearly untouchable, going 7-0 over his last nine starts. His latest masterpiece featured seven innings and a season-high 11 strikeouts against Colorado. Safe to say he’s not exactly arriving short on confidence.

Interim manager Chad Tracy has every reason to smile. His pitching staff keeps handing him stress-free evenings while Boston continues stacking wins.

New York Yankees: Somebody Please Wake Up the Bats

The Yankees have scored exactly one run in each of the last two games. That’s not an offensive slump—that’s practically a community service project for opposing pitchers.

Aaron Boone knows the offense has gone ice cold, while Cody Bellinger admitted the lineup simply can’t string together rallies. Ben Rice isn’t helping matters either, finding himself stuck in a rough 2-for-23 stretch despite previously taking Gray deep earlier this month.

Carlos Rodon gets the ball with a respectable 4-2 record and a 3.70 ERA. He’s quietly won four of his last five starts and generally gives New York a chance to compete. The problem? Even the best pitching performance doesn’t help much if your offense treats home plate like it’s off limits.

LVSB’s Betting Take

Boston owns the momentum, the hotter lineup, and the much sharper starting pitching. Unless the Yankees suddenly remember they’re one of baseball’s highest-scoring teams, the Red Sox have a great opportunity to finish the sweep.

The Yankees still have plenty of talent… they just forgot where they left it this weekend.
