The Dream are eager to get back on track before embarking on a tough six-game road trip. Sitting at 11-7, Atlanta has dropped three of its last four, including a brutal 80-79 loss to the Seattle Storm. Despite leading late, they let the game slip with just seconds to go.
One bright spot for the Dream is the likely return of Rhyne Howard (16.8 PPG), who missed the Seattle game with an upper-body issue but practiced Sunday. Her presence should give Atlanta a much-needed offensive boost. Allisha Gray continues to lead the charge with 19.1 points per game, while Brionna Jones contributes a solid 14 points and 8.1 boards a night.
Head coach Karl Smesko knows his squad has work to do, especially with an extended road trip looming. The Dream sit just one game behind New York in the East and need a statement win here before they hit the road.
Golden State Valkyries
Golden State’s debut season has had its ups and downs, especially on the road. The Valkyries are 9-8 overall but just 2-5 away from Chase Center. After an 82-71 loss to the Lynx, they’ve now lost five of their last seven on the road and will need to dig deep to pull off the upset in Georgia.
Kayla Thornton (14.9 PPG) and Tiffany Hayes (14.0 PPG) have been steady scorers, with Hayes dropping 23 in the loss to Minnesota. But with limited depth and a shaky road track record, head coach Natalie Nakase knows her group needs to find ways to stay focused under pressure.
Golden State has shown flashes of toughness, but this matchup will be a test of whether they can hang with one of the East’s best on unfamiliar ground.

With Howard back and a chip on their shoulder, Atlanta should come out focused. Expect the Dream to cover the -6.0 spread and keep the momentum rolling into their road swing.
