Atlanta vs Dallas Preview & Prediction

Somebody’s Hot Streak Is About To Get Dumped

The Dallas Wings have gone from “rebuilding” to “surprise party nobody RSVP’d for.” Winners of seven of their last eight, Dallas is suddenly hanging around the WNBA’s elite and making opponents wish the All-Star break lasted another month.

Meanwhile, Atlanta strolls into Texas as the slight favorite, probably because the Dream already own two wins over the Wings this season. Dallas may have found its groove, but Atlanta still has the receipt.

Dallas Is Cooking

The Wings closed the first half with a thrilling 101-97 win over Portland, powered by a classic Arike Ogunbowale takeover. She scored all 24 of her points after halftime, apparently deciding defense was optional until intermission.

Paige Bueckers returned from a brief absence and chipped in 21 points, while Jessica Shepard filled every column of the stat sheet with 18 points, 15 rebounds and 10 assists for her fourth triple-double of the season. Maddy Siegrist added 14 off the bench, proving Dallas has enough depth to make every substitution feel like a cheat code.

Atlanta Already Knows The Recipe

The Dream swept the first two meetings, winning by five and then by 17, so they’re not exactly intimidated by Dallas’ recent hot streak.

Atlanta heads into this matchup after three straight victories, including a dramatic 93-91 win over Chicago thanks to Jordin Canada’s buzzer-beating layup. Allisha Gray poured in 29 points, Madina Okot added 14 off the bench, Rhyne Howard scored 11, and Canada finished with 10 points and nine assists. That’s one way to erase a blown 22-point lead without giving your coach gray hair… well, too much.

Angel Reese briefly scared everyone with a knee injury before returning for the All-Star Game. She’s expected to play Wednesday and continues to dominate with 15.4 points and 11.5 rebounds per game while piling up 17 double-doubles this season. She says the double-doubles only matter if the team wins. That’s the kind of answer coaches love and fantasy managers politely ignore.

LVSB Prediction

Dallas has been one of the league’s hottest teams, but Atlanta has already solved this puzzle twice. Expect another close battle with the Dream escaping late once again.
