The Yankees are starting to show life at the right time. After dropping seven of 10, they’ve now won three of their last four and they’re doing it in gritty fashion. Their last three wins came by two runs or fewer, including Wednesday’s extra-inning thriller. Ryan McMahon, fresh off the trade from Colorado, has been clutch, hitting .353 in five games with a walk-off single to beat Tampa. Cody Bellinger also keeps grinding, with a .348 average across his last 33 games.
Marcus Stroman (2-2, 6.09 ERA) will look to steady the ship. He’s 2-1 with a 4.01 ERA since returning from injury but lasted just 3 2/3 innings in his last outing. Still, the Yankees’ offense looks sharper, and they’re trending up as narrow -114 favorites.
Tampa Bay Ray Preview
The Rays are fading, plain and simple. Losers of six of their last seven and now under .500 for the first time since late May, Tampa is dealing with more than just losses. They’ve shipped off two arms in trades, lost late leads in back-to-back games, and are now staring down a potential sweep in the Bronx.
The return of Brandon Lowe helped Wednesday (2-for-4, RBI double), and Josh Lowe added some drama with a ninth-inning blast. But the bullpen continues to crumble, and Ryan Pepiot (6-8, 3.42 ERA) has had little luck vs. the Yankees this season, losing both starts.

New York is clicking again, especially with timely hits and late-game resilience. With Stroman looking to bounce back and Tampa’s bullpen leaking runs, the edge goes to the Yankees at home.
