The Liberty finally stopped the bleeding.
After dropping four straight including three without Breanna Stewart, New York bounced back Sunday with an 87-78 win over the Sun. The hero? Sabrina Ionescu, who erupted for 36 points on 14-of-22 shooting. She’s now hitting over 52% from the floor across her last six games and carrying the offensive load in Stewart’s absence.
New York still coughed up 22 turnovers in that win, and they’ll need to clean up the sloppiness to cover a double-digit spread. Jonquel Jones continues to contribute solidly, but the offense lives and dies with Ionescu right now.
They’ll look to avenge a brutal 92-82 road loss to Dallas from just over a week ago, where they were outscored 63-36 in the first half alone. Expect New York to come out angry and dialed in at home.
Dallas Wings Betting Breakdown
The Wings remain stuck in the Western Conference basement with an 8-21 record, losing eight of their last ten games.
Despite upsetting the Liberty last week, Dallas couldn’t ride the momentum. They followed that win with a three-point loss to Atlanta and a double-digit defeat at the hands of the Indiana Fever. Friday’s loss featured poor shooting (40.6%), weak rebounding (-14 margin), and just two made threes on 15 attempts.
Paige Bueckers has been the lone bright spot, dropping 22 points in the latest loss and posting three straight 20+ point games. But without more support and some semblance of perimeter shooting—the Wings are consistently playing from behind.
They’ll need toughness and defensive intensity from the jump, especially on the road in a revenge spot for New York.
