NY Yankees vs Tampa Bay MLB Preview & Pick

Moneyline: NY Yankees -140
Runline: NY Yankees -1.5 (+120)
Total: 8.0

New York Yankees: Offense Took a Vacation

The Yankees roll into Tampa Bay as a -140 favorite, which is hilarious considering their bats just disappeared like they owed someone money. One hit last game. One. Ben Rice probably felt like a hero for just making contact.

This lineup hasn’t scored since… well, it feels like last week. Aaron Boone is out here politely saying they need better at-bats, which is manager code for “please hit the ball, guys.”

The good news? The pitching has been elite. Starters haven’t allowed more than three runs all season, and Luis Gil returns with a 3.32 ERA from last year and solid history against Tampa. So yeah, if they score even three runs, that might be enough.

Tampa Bay Rays: Almost Good, Not Quite

The Rays are back in their shiny renovated dome, which looks great, but unfortunately does not come with automatic hitting upgrades. They just dropped back-to-back games while going 3-for-14 with runners in scoring position. So basically, same problem, different zip code.

Yandy Diaz cooled off after a hot start, Junior Caminero forgot how to hit for two straight games, and the offense keeps trying to hit five-run homers with nobody on base.

Steven Matz is 2-0, which sounds impressive until you realize he’s rocking a 4.09 ERA and facing a team that might wake up at any moment. Or not. Hard to tell with these Yankees lately.

LVSB Prediction

Yankees -140, the runline is at -1.5 (+120) and the total at 8.0, and both offenses are currently participating in a witness protection program.

This has all the makings of a low-scoring, slightly painful viewing experience where every run feels like a miracle. The Yankees have the better pitching edge, and eventually someone in that lineup has to remember how to hit. Right?

Final Score: Yankees 4 Rays 2
Lean:  NY Yankees -1.5 (+120)
Total:
Under 8.0
