Carolina vs Vegas NHL Preview & Pick

Moneyline: Carolina -115
Spread: Carolina -1.5 (+225)
Total: 6.0

The Stanley Cup Final heads back to Las Vegas with the Carolina Hurricanes holding a 3-2 series lead and sitting one victory away from capturing the franchise’s second championship. The Hurricanes enter as slight -115 road favorites, while the total is set at 6 goals.

Carolina Hurricanes Outlook

Carolina has seized control of the series by winning back-to-back games and now has the Golden Knights facing elimination. One of the biggest reasons has been the consistency of veteran captain Jordan Staal, who has scored in all five Stanley Cup Final games, tying an NHL Finals record.

Nikolaj Ehlers has also elevated his play at the perfect time, recording consecutive three-point performances and giving Carolina another dangerous offensive weapon.

The Hurricanes have shown remarkable resilience throughout the season and have not suffered consecutive losses since mid-January. That consistency has been a defining factor during their playoff run.

In goal, Brandon Bussi is expected to receive another opportunity after helping stabilize the position following Carolina’s double-overtime loss in Game 3.

Vegas Golden Knights Outlook

Vegas returns home knowing its season is on the line. The Golden Knights have already experienced both heartbreak and celebration in Stanley Cup elimination games and will be hoping history repeats itself from their championship run in 2023.

The biggest concern surrounds William Karlsson, who exited Game 5 following a heavy collision. Karlsson remains one of Vegas’ most important defensive forwards and faceoff specialists. If unavailable, the Golden Knights will lean heavily on Tomas Hertl, Mitch Marner, and Brett Howden to fill the void.

Marner continues to lead all NHL playoff scorers with 29 points, while Howden has emerged as one of the postseason’s top finishers with 14 goals.

Vegas will stick with Carter Hart despite a difficult Finals. Hart owns a 3.70 goals-against average and an .856 save percentage in the series but remains confident he can bounce back in the biggest game of the season.

Betting Outlook

Carolina has all the momentum and appears to have the edge in net, while Vegas faces mounting pressure and injury concerns. The Hurricanes have been the more complete team over the last two games and are in position to finish the job.

Score Prediction: Hurricanes 4, Golden Knights 3
Pick: Carolina Hurricanes ML (-115)
Total: Over 6.0 (-103)
