NY Yankees vs Baltimore MLB Preview & Pick

Moneyline: NY Yankees -123
Runline: NY Yankees -1.5 (+135)
Total: 9.5

Yankees: Winning Ugly Still Counts

The Yankees enter Wednesday as -123 favorites, somehow winning games while their offense treats scoring runs like an optional subscription service.

New York took Tuesday’s opener 3-1 thanks to Trent Grisham, who homered and drove in all three runs. Pete Alonso extended his hitting streak to 10 games, but the lineup still hasn’t exactly been mistaken for the 1927 Yankees.

Will Warren gets the ball at 8-6 with a 4.42 ERA. He’s pitched well against Baltimore, going 3-2 with a 3.94 ERA in six career appearances. Still, Warren has only one victory across 12 outings since June began.

Not exactly screaming “lay the juice.”

Orioles: Mayo Heating Up

Baltimore managed only four hits Tuesday, but Coby Mayo supplied the lone run with his 17th homer. He’s now gone deep in consecutive games for the first time since April.

The Orioles need the rest of the lineup to wake up, especially after three pinch hitters Tuesday produced three strikeouts. That’s less “strategic substitution” and more “everyone grab a bat and pray.”

Chris Bassitt starts with a 4-4 record and 5.11 ERA, but his Yankees history is far prettier. He’s 5-2 with a dominant 2.06 ERA across nine career starts against New York, striking out 64 over 56 2/3 innings.

LVSB Betting Prediction

The Yankees are favored at -123 with the run line at -1.5 (+135), but Baltimore at +103 is our upset play.

Bassitt’s overall ERA isn’t pretty enough for the refrigerator door, but his career numbers against New York matter. Meanwhile, the Yankees’ offense has been sputtering badly enough that Grisham had to personally manufacture Tuesday’s entire scoreboard.

Baltimore’s offense needs improvement, but Mayo is heating up and the Orioles are fighting for playoff positioning.

At plus money, we’ll gladly take our chances with the home dog.

With the total sitting at 9.5, we’re also expecting fewer fireworks than oddsmakers suggest.

Final Score: Orioles 5, Yankees 4
Lean: Baltimore Orioles ML (+103)
Total:
Under 9.5 (-120)

The Yankees have the bigger name. Baltimore has the plus money. LVSB knows which one pays better.
