Atlanta vs Milwaukee MLB Preview & Pick

Moneyline: Milwaukee -145
Runline: Milwaukee -1.5 (+170)
Total: 6.0

Ace vs. Alien

Friday’s series opener in Milwaukee is basically what happens when MLB schedules a pitching duel and forgets offense is supposed to participate.

The Brewers are -145 moneyline favorites, with Milwaukee -1.5 (+170) and the total sitting at a microscopic 6.0 runs.

Milwaukee sends Jacob Misiorowski (12-5, 1.75 ERA) to the mound against Atlanta veteran Chris Sale (12-8, 2.16 ERA). Yes, those are the two best ERAs in baseball. Good luck, hitters.

Milwaukee Brings Heat

Misiorowski has spent 2026 making professional hitters reconsider their career choices. His 100-plus mph fastball, nasty cutter and slider have helped him rack up an MLB-leading 210 strikeouts.

He held the Dodgers to one run on five hits over six innings in his latest start, earning a 4-1 victory.

Atlanta has seen him before. Misiorowski allowed two runs and five hits over six innings against the Braves on June 19, although Milwaukee lost 3-2.

That’s baseball: pitch great, lose anyway, stare angrily into the dugout.

Sale Still Dealing

Apparently nobody told Chris Sale he is 37.

The former Cy Young winner has posted five consecutive quality starts since the All-Star break, yet Atlanta managed to lose his last two because scoring runs has occasionally become an optional team activity.

Sale allowed just one run and five hits over six innings against Arizona on August 14, only for Atlanta to lose 2-0.

He has dominated Milwaukee historically, going 2-0 with a 1.62 ERA in six career starts against the Brewers.

LVSB Prediction

With Misiorowski throwing missiles and Sale refusing to age normally, Under 6.0 deserves serious consideration. Unfortunately, six is such a low total that one ugly bullpen inning could ruin everybody’s evening.

Milwaukee gets the edge at home with Misiorowski’s overpowering stuff and a little more confidence in the lineup. At -145, the Brewers moneyline is our preferred side rather than laying -1.5 at +170 in what should be a tight game.

LVSB Pick: Milwaukee Brewers ML (-145)
Total Lean: Under 6.0 (-110)

Score Prediction: Brewers 3, Braves 2
