Indiana Fever: Clark Seeking Redemption
The Fever have spent nearly a week staring into the basketball mirror after getting roasted 100-84 by Portland. That’s a lot of time to think about life choices, defensive rotations, and why opponents seem to score whenever they feel like it.
Caitlin Clark remains one of the league’s biggest stars, averaging 20.1 points and a WNBA-best 8.1 assists per game. Unfortunately, her last outing featured just six points, which shocked everyone except Portland’s defense.
The internet also lost its mind over a sideline exchange between Clark and coach Stephanie White. According to Clark, it was simply two competitive people wanting to win. According to social media, it was apparently a 12-part documentary series.
Kelsey Mitchell leads Indiana with 20.6 points per game, while Aliyah Boston continues to provide balance with 15.9 points and 7.4 rebounds. The problem remains defense. Indiana is allowing 89 points per game, which is roughly equivalent to leaving the front door unlocked and hoping nobody notices.
If the Fever want to win, they’ll need to defend better than they have recently and avoid turning this into a track meet.
Atlanta Dream: Flying High Lately
Atlanta arrives looking like one of the Eastern Conference’s most complete teams. The Dream have won four of their last five games and continue climbing thanks to elite scoring and strong rebounding.
Allisha Gray has been spectacular, averaging 21.1 points per game while playing some of the best basketball of her career. Rhyne Howard isn’t far behind at 19.3 points per contest and continues creating matchup nightmares for opposing defenses.
Then there’s Angel Reese, who treats rebounds like they’re free samples at Costco. Reese averages 13.0 points and a league-leading 11.3 rebounds per game while recently passing 1,000 career points.
Atlanta’s offense is balanced, physical, and difficult to slow down. Unlike Indiana, the Dream consistently win the hustle categories and rarely beat themselves.
The Dream have looked like a legitimate contender so far, and they won’t be intimidated by a road trip to Indianapolis.
LVSB Final Score Prediction
The betting line says Indiana is favored. The recent performances say this game is much closer than that.
Clark should bounce back offensively after her rough outing, but Atlanta’s balance, defense, and rebounding edge make them extremely dangerous. Expect a competitive battle that goes down to the final minutes.
