Rocky Road for Colorado: Rangers to Lasso the Win!
Moneyline: Rangers (-210)
Total: 9.0
Welcome to the “I can’t believe this is happening” edition of baseball, where the Colorado Rockies take their 2-19 road record (yes, you read that right) to face the Texas Rangers in Arlington. The Rangers are sitting pretty at 14-8 at home, and I’m pretty sure they’ve already fluffed up the welcome mat with a “Thanks for the Free Wins” sign out front.
Pitching Matchup: Bullseye vs. Balloon
The Rockies are sending Antonio Senzatela to the mound. With his sparkling 1-6 record and 5.77 ERA, you have to wonder if he’s secretly working for the other team. I mean, a 1.92 WHIP? That’s basically an all-you-can-run buffet for the Rangers’ lineup. If Senzatela’s pitching were a theme park ride, it would be called “Walks and Dingers,” and it would be shut down by the health inspector.
Meanwhile, Texas is rolling out Patrick Corbin, who is sporting a far more respectable 2-2 record with a 3.13 ERA. It’s not quite Cy Young material, but compared to Senzatela, it’s like matching a Tesla against a shopping cart with a wobbly wheel.
Rockies: Experts in Finding New Ways to Lose
The Rockies are 7-35 overall and have the road presence of a cardboard cutout. They’ve managed to lose 25 games out of 27 when the opposing team hits a home run. I’m no detective, but I think I’ve found the culprit, and it’s a beach ball disguised as their pitching staff.
Ryan McMahon is trying to keep things respectable with six homers and six doubles, while Mike Toglia has been doing his best with two home runs in the last 10 games. It’s like rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic at this point.
Rangers: Hosting a Home Run Derby
Wyatt Langford and Josh Jung have been crushing it. Langford has seven homers this season, while Jung has four in his last 10 games. It’s basically batting practice when the Rockies are in town.
Prediction:
Texas wins this one easily, possibly by mercy rule if Major League Baseball decides to introduce one mid-game. Final score? Let’s say 8-2 Rangers, with Colorado’s bullpen auditioning for their new sitcom: Leave it to Walks.
Final Score Prediction: Rangers 8, Rockies 2
Moneyline: Texas Runline -1.5 (-110)
Total: Over 9.0 (-105)
