Anaheim Ducks Breakdown
The Anaheim Ducks are somehow sitting as slight -112 favorites, which is hilarious because they’ve been outplaying Vegas like they owe them money. Series tied 1-1, but let’s be honest, Anaheim has looked like the better team in both games.
Game 2? A clean 3-1 win. Not flashy, just effective. The Ducks are flying around the ice like they drank six energy drinks each. Speed everywhere, pressure nonstop, and suddenly Vegas looks like they’re skating in quicksand.
Lukas Dostal nearly posted a shutout and has been rock solid, which is ironic considering Anaheim’s defense was basically optional during the regular season. They gave up 3.51 goals per game back then, now they’re playing like a team that just discovered defense exists.
Offensively, this group can score. They averaged 3.23 goals per game and dropped 26 in their first-round series. So now they defend and score? That’s not fair.
Funny Part: Ducks went from “fun team” to “why are they suddenly responsible adults” real quick.
Vegas Golden Knights Breakdown
The Vegas Golden Knights are technically still the experienced, composed, veteran squad. You just wouldn’t know it watching the last two games.
Mark Stone said they haven’t played their best yet. No kidding. The offense has basically ghosted. Four total goals in two games, and two of them were about as meaningful as preseason stats.
Vegas keeps doing this thing where they enter the zone, take one shot, and politely leave. That’s not pressure, that’s a courtesy visit. Coach John Tortorella wants more offensive-zone time, and honestly, so do the fans.
Penalties haven’t helped either. Eight minutes in the first six minutes of Game 2. That’s not a strategy, that’s chaos. Even though Anaheim didn’t capitalize, it completely killed any rhythm Vegas was trying to build.
The hope here is veteran composure kicks in. This team has been here before. The problem is, Anaheim doesn’t care about your résumé when they’re skating circles around you.
Funny Part: Vegas trying to “stay composed” while Anaheim is sprinting laps around them like it’s cardio day.
Game Prediction
Line sits at Ducks -112 with a total of 6.0, and this feels like a game where momentum actually matters. Anaheim has it, Vegas is still searching for it.
The Ducks are dictating pace, winning puck battles, and forcing Vegas into uncomfortable spots. Unless the Golden Knights suddenly remember how to generate sustained offense, this trend continues.
Total staying at 6.0 makes sense with how tight these games have been, especially with Anaheim tightening up defensively.
Score Prediction: Ducks 3, Golden Knights 2
