What makes Cleveland especially dangerous now is how balanced the team suddenly looks around him. Evan Mobley delivered one of his strongest defensive performances of the postseason with five blocks and three steals while helping neutralize Jalen Duren around the rim.
Cleveland’s defense has also transformed the pace of the series. The Cavaliers are limiting Detroit’s transition opportunities while forcing the Pistons into half-court possessions that have become increasingly uncomfortable offensively.
The only concern remains Cleveland’s road struggles. The Cavaliers are still winless away from home during this postseason, and Detroit’s crowd created major problems for them earlier in the series.
Still, the confidence level now looks completely different compared to last week. Coach Kenny Atkinson acknowledged Cleveland has “figured some stuff out,” and recent performances support that statement.
