Arizona vs St. Louis MLB Preview & Pick

Moneyline: St. Louis -138
Runline: St. Louis -1.5 (+150)
Total: 9.0

The Cardinals are sitting as -138 favorites with a -1.5 run line (+150), while the total checks in at 9.0. Translation? Vegas expects runs… and probably another emotional support session for whichever bullpen gets overworked first.

Arizona Diamondbacks

Arizona rolls into St. Louis feeling pretty good after dropping nine runs on the Cardinals Wednesday. Nothing boosts confidence quite like turning the opposing pitching staff into batting practice.

The spotlight stays on Zac Gallen, who owns a 3-6 record with a bloated 6.10 ERA. His last outing against Minnesota looked more like a Home Run Derby audition after allowing nine runs in only four innings. To be fair, he did pitch well against Cincinnati one start earlier, proving he still remembers how baseball works… occasionally.

The offense, meanwhile, is heating up. LuJames Groover finally launched his first career homer, while Ketel Marte crushed his 13th long ball of the season during Arizona’s six-run explosion. If those bats stay hot, Gallen won’t need perfection—just something better than “please make it stop.”

St. Louis Cardinals

The Cardinals return home hoping Wednesday’s disaster was just an ugly episode they’ll pretend never happened. Unfortunately, baseball has no delete button.

Michael McGreevy gets the ball carrying a respectable 3.35 ERA despite a frustrating 3-6 record. Wins have become rarer than finding affordable stadium beer, as he hasn’t celebrated one since May 8 and is winless over his last seven starts.

St. Louis did show a little life late Wednesday. Jose Fermin launched a homer, Lars Nootbaar tripled, and Blaze Jordan chipped in an RBI, but scoring after you’re already getting blown out is basically baseball’s version of cleaning the house after your guests leave.

One positive? Oliver Marmol’s bullpen finally gets a bit of rest after surviving another week of emergency overtime.

LVSB Final Score Prediction

Arizona has the hotter lineup, but the Cardinals usually respond well after getting embarrassed. Expect a much tighter contest than Wednesday’s fireworks, with both starters looking to redeem themselves.

Final Score: Cardinals 6, Diamondbacks 4
Lean: St. Louis Cardinals 1.5 (+150)
Total:
Over 9.0 (-110)
