Houston enters the rubber match as a -128 favorite after getting smacked 10-5 on Saturday. Nothing says “division leader” quite like spending Sunday pretending yesterday never happened.
Hunter Brown gets the ball at 3-2 with a 3.68 ERA. He allowed three runs over five innings against San Francisco last time out and has surrendered six runs across 11 innings in two August starts.
His history against Seattle isn’t exactly refrigerator-worthy either. Brown is 1-4 with a 4.09 ERA in nine career starts against the Mariners.
The good news? Houston has Ronel Blanco, Tatsuya Imai and Cristian Javier available around the rotation. The bad news? Blanco just allowed five runs over four relief innings Saturday.
Seattle: Woo Can Ruin the Party
Seattle counters with Bryan Woo, who enters 8-8 with a 4.15 ERA.
Woo tossed five scoreless innings against the Yankees in his last outing, allowing only three hits while striking out five. It was already his seventh start this season with at least five shutout innings and three or fewer hits allowed.
Even better for Seattle bettors, Woo owns a 3-2 record with a 2.86 ERA in six career starts against Houston. He dominated the Astros here in May, allowing two runs with nine strikeouts over six innings in a 10-2 victory.
Closer Andres Munoz remains the adventure nobody ordered. He owns a career-worst 4.47 ERA despite an absurd 14.2 strikeouts per nine innings.

Houston is favored at -128, but this isn’t exactly a pitching mismatch screaming “free money.”
Woo has consistently handled Houston, while Brown has struggled against Seattle throughout his career. Still, the Astros are at home, lead the AL West and have enough pitching flexibility behind Brown to survive if things get messy.
We’ll back Houston in a tight rubber match, but we’re staying with the moneyline instead of asking them to cover -1.5 at +160.
With the total sitting at 8.0, Saturday’s fireworks shouldn’t automatically scare us into another slugfest. Both starters are capable of settling this game down.
